“GOD”
means “Guardian of Devotees”. My favorite God is Lord Ganesha.
There are many reasons for this. A simpler one is:-
G
– Get
A
– Always
N
– New
E
– Energy
S
– Spirit &
H
– Happiness
A
– At all times.
Lord
Ganesha holds a very significant place in the Hindu religion .He is
usually worshipped as the obstacle remover .His other names are
Ganapati (holder of the weight of his devotees.), Gajaanan (elephant
headed), Vinaayagar etc. Any religious activity begins with his
blessings. Even when we start writing anything; we use his symbol on
the top. According to the Hindus, Lord Ganesha is the eldest son of
Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. Parvathi created Ganesha in the
absence of Lord Shiva to guard the house while she is bathing. When
Lord Shiva came, Ganesha didn’t allow his father to get in.
Furiously, Lord Shiva cut down his head with the trishula. When
Parvati saw the condition of her son she became angry. Then, to
console her, Shiva replaced Ganesha’s head with an elephant’s
one.
Ganapathi
is considered as favorite God of children. He also gets the Tamil
name Pillayar. He wrote the “Mahabharata” as sage Vyasa dictated
the verses. He is very kind & pitiful. His vehicle Mooshika (a
mouse) is a Ghandharva, whom he transferred like this. The full moon
day of Vaisakh is considered as his sacred day. He is a very jovial
God and enjoys his dinner very much.
Let
us pray Lord Ganesha and seek his blessings.
