Austin and Ally- my review

I was just surfing the TV as usual. I came across a channel called Disney International. Previously, I knew Disney only as a cartoon channel. (That’s when I always watched cartoons.) Due to my curiosity, I started watching it. The show playing was Austin and Ally season 1. How awesome it was! The show was very humorous and the songs on it were fabulous too. It’s about Ally, a girl who likes and composes music but has a bad stage fright and Austin, a guy who’s awesome in singing but can’t write his own songs. Austin becomes an overnight sensation by playing Alley’s song without realising that it wasn’t his composition. And Austin is asked to compose another song for a show. So he teams up with Ally to create a song. And during the show, Austin tries to make Ally perform live, but she freaks out. Again, this video goes viral in the net.

The characters Trish and Dez add humour to this story. Trish changes her job more frequently( or rather, once in two days) and Dez helps Austin with his videos. That’s all in episode 1. This show really made me laugh. I enjoyed it a lot. Can’t wait for the next episode.

I would recommend all my friends to watch it. So dear readers, by any chance you come across this show don't miss it.

Dude - Review

TL;DR - A Rare mainstream surprise with its heart in the right place. To begin with, I didn't expect any movie to make it to my blog this year, especially Dude. I was skeptical even while booking the tickets, and the pessimism only grew when a couple of close friends said they didn’t like it. For context: I didn’t enjoy Love Today , and Dragon was just okay. But if skepticism can ever lead to a pleasant surprise, Dude definitely proves it. I usually look for one out of two things from a film - a compelling narrative or solid entertainment. I don’t comment much on Tamil films because Tamil cinema, at least from what I have sampled, often misses both and at its worst, treats the female lead as an interchangeable prop, contributing no real agency to the story. It has been a long while since a mainstream entertainer offered a female character with intention, dimension, and presence. Dude does, and that alone deserves acknowledgement. My experience with Murakami - 1

Before we begin, I am in no way qualified to review this book. However, I might not be able to move on with life if I don't give this the closure it deserves. I thought my first encounter with Murakami would be through Norwegian Wood. Like everybody else. It could've been through Kafka on the shore too, I saw that book on my dad's desk for almost three months. But no. Maybe this book landed at the right time. Or there is no right time.
