Importance of Swimming

"Life is like a swimming pool. You dive into water, but you can't see how deep it is."

Once, a fisherman was asked to take a scholar on a ride across the river. It was about to start raining, but due to the urgency of the scholar, the fisherman had no choice but to take the scholar across the river. A few minutes after the start, the scholar began questioning the fisherman about holy texts. The fisherman said that he knew nothing about them, and the scholar smirked at him, saying that he had wasted half of his life. Soon enough, it started raining heavily. The scholar panicked as the boat tilted on the middle of the river. When he told the fisherman that he didn't know hot to swim, the fisherman now smirked at him and said, " I have wasted only half of my life; but now you've wasted your entire life!"

Swimming is one of the life basics. It is the only activity which exercises the whole body.We often refer to it as a 'healthy recreation.' Swimming improves flexibility in us. It gives us endurance and makes our muscles strong.

Practising swimming can ensure a healthy and relaxed heart and mind. If a person says he doesn't know hot to swim, he should realise that one day, his life might be in grave danger. Swimming can save you in many situations like floods, or even drowning like the scholar in the story. Hence, it is very important to learn hot to swim.

"Seven days of no swimming can make one weak."

My experience with Murakami - 1

Before we begin, I am in no way qualified to review this book. However, I might not be able to move on with life if I don't give this the closure it deserves. I thought my first encounter with Murakami would be through Norwegian Wood. Like everybody else. Afterthoughts - YellowFace

 It took me a while to finish this book. Longer than I'd like to admit. Partly because engineering can get exhausting; sometimes all you want to do is sit still and stare into the void.
