A muse of now or

A memory of tomorrow

Both seem amusing

Greeted with sparkling eyes

Yet one sparkles with joy

And other a nostalgic sorrow.

Is it because it ended?

Or does time even matter?

Only time can answer

For itself, and for others.

Are joy and sorrow

The binaries of the emo world?

Or are all humans compulsive,

To classify their deepest memories?

Is it because they might go away?

When the bouncy ball no longer bounces

Do you not remember your tiny head

Following the ball with a heart?

A heart that did not know

Of sorrow or joy

Of pain of remembrance

Or the joy of forgetting

Is that heart a memory now?

A happy one I hope,

And if it is

You're lucky.

  1. The line, 'do you not remember your tiny head following the ball with a heart ?' hit deep that it made me wonder those memories that my mind wanted to stop remembering but my heart wouldn't let me.
It's unclassified indeed but I feel the heart can become a happy memory after a point of time if we allow it to. But no matter if it has become happy or not, those memories that made your heart go crazy like that, they deserve to be called special I guess.
This one was deep. Keep writing!

Dude - Review

TL;DR - A Rare mainstream surprise with its heart in the right place. To begin with, I didn't expect any movie to make it to my blog this year, especially Dude. I was skeptical even while booking the tickets, and the pessimism only grew when a couple of close friends said they didn’t like it. For context: I didn’t enjoy Love Today , and Dragon was just okay. But if skepticism can ever lead to a pleasant surprise, Dude definitely proves it. I usually look for one out of two things from a film - a compelling narrative or solid entertainment. I don’t comment much on Tamil films because Tamil cinema, at least from what I have sampled, often misses both and at its worst, treats the female lead as an interchangeable prop, contributing no real agency to the story. It has been a long while since a mainstream entertainer offered a female character with intention, dimension, and presence. Dude does, and that alone deserves acknowledgement. PR struck like a typical Gen-Z actor in his first...

Recap 2025

2025 was a year of trials, tribulations and triumphs. A mixtape of emotions. A year where either conditional probability did not apply to my life or there were more variables in play. It was a year of shedding: both light and deadweight. The year quietly announced itself towards the end of 2024, when I had a wonderful exploration of the Ripon Building and its surroundings. It quietly set the tone for the new year – wandering, observing and letting curiosity take the lead. The first two months were mildly eventful. I was selected to be the head of Registration Committee for Vibrance. I enjoyed the hustle – the checklist, the controlled chaos and the celebrations. I was simultaneously handling my submission for the semi-finals of the Google Girls’ Hackathon, and I’m grateful to my committee and my parents for being supportive. I had an instrumental phase, and I remember blasting the Imperial March in the middle of the night while working. It turned out to be much better ...

Undergrad Recap

I graduated last Sunday. My undergrad days have been a rollercoaster of things – good and bad. This is an honest recap of how I spent my undergrad. The post will contain some VIT-Chennai specific things. I’m sure there are multiple versions to the same story, and similar versions in other universities.  I am graduating with a Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering with a Specialisation in Cyberphysical Systems from VIT, Chennai campus. The major part of the degree was my choice. The rest of it was on my “things that would work for me” list. I did not want to go to the Chennai campus precisely because a lot of people I knew went there/ were planning to go there. I wanted a fresh start to life. But life had other plans. Looking back, I don’t think it could have played out any better, and I’m graduating without any major regrets. I spent the first one and a half years enthusiastically exhausting myself by signing up for various things – clubs, events, special teams, webin...
