A strange thing happened today and I feel it as a must to
write about it.
I was reading social studies today. Its three days since I touched
the school bag so I thought I’d better give it a shot if there’s school
tomorrow. As my friends came one by one when I sat with my book open, I decided
to read geography. (I missed centum with that doltish one mark from geography) I
opened the book and started reading.
The lesson was about agriculture. The starting
was good; it went around the types of agriculture and blah blah. But at a
point, a topic came about the forests from nowhere and the lesson seemed like
never ending. I gathered up all my strength and started reading seriously. At last,
I completed the lesson, closed my book and took a deep breath. Then I closed my
eyes.
The next minute I was in an evergreen forest. I could see greenery all
around me. For a few moments, I was amazed and thrilled. Then I heard a strange
sound. The sound of speed rain. But the water reached the ground slowly. I ran,
hoping to find a shelter but I didn’t find one. All of a sudden, the area had
become darker than usual and I heard more noises. Within a fraction of seconds,
I was holding onto a log in a flowing current. The current became more intense,
and I went underwater for a second. Then I leaped out, shocked and scared. Suddenly,
I was in my room, clutching my geography textbook. I let a relieving laugh. That
hallucination was due to my creativity. Well, whatever thriller that scenario
gave me, I also learnt a lesson.
“Never Dream when you are reading Geography.”
