This year we have various topics assigned for the students magazine, and the submission ended last week. So, I do have hope in getting mine published, but a little anticipation keeps me thinking. Anyway, the topic for 9th grade was, 'Effective use of Energy in Nation's Development.' and I took the writing part.
"Energy of mind is the essence of life."
When we think of energy, we recollect not its definition, but terms like solar energy, wind energy, atomic energy etc. The strength or power to do any work is energy. And I believe, the energy required for producing all other kinds of energy is Man power.
India is the 2nd most populated country in the world and in the nearest future, we might even reach the first place. According to a census, India's population today is 1.34 billion with 29 percent being children under 15 years. As people say, "today's children are tomorrow's citizens", the development of the nation will entirely depend on their talent and skill. More than three-fourth of this generation will be educated. Their contribution to the nation's development is the most precious form of energy. With youth literacy being 91 percent, most of this generation would want to go abroad. This may slow down the development of the nation. The reasons for migration are mainly high competition among jobs, talent exams and educational preferences, difference in incomes of different occupations, or lack of opportunities in various fields.
What could we do to prevent this? We can ensure that we get more opportunities in days to come. One of the attractions of foreign companies amongst this generation is a good package. In days to come, if we are ensured a hike in income, the migration rate of today (1520 emigrants per hour) would be reduced by half.
As Swami Vivekananda says, "All power is within you. You can do anything and everything." we the younger generation should realise that we are the energy of our country. We must do whatever we have to to bring India to the top level in the world's economy.
