I watched the movie 'Mean Girls' with a friend today. The story is about how one changes herself in order to get along with others.
The lead character Cady Heron joins high school when she's 16. She had been previously home schooled in Africa, and her parents are research zoologists. She feels lonely on the first few days, and she befriends two students, Janis and Damian. They tell her about the school, typically how one would tell a new student. At that time, they tell her about the group 'Plastics.' It's headed by Regina George and her two followers, Karen and Gretchen. And over the next few days, Cady is forced to join them and her behaviour totally changes. She realises she's not in the right path, but doesn't seem to care. And there's some usual high school drama going on, and Cady has to survive the tests which are put forward by the normal world as well as the girl world.
Now, the reason why I liked this movie. It had actually depicted how one's character changes in order to fit his/her environment. We don't have that much of drama here in our schools, but there's no teen in this world who doesn't adapts to his/her situation. The only thing we have to ensure is that we should always choose the positive change, even though it brings you a lot of trouble. Although the language used in the film may seem weird to us, but the movie's worth watching.
There's one more thing that the movie can tell us, one important thing that we all tend to forget, "Whatever the situation is, you must be what you are." No matter how much you admire someone else, there's no one better being you than you.The story clearly depicts this message. No time can be soon or late. Just like how Cady got a chance to join the Mathletes again, we all would get a chance to go back and rectify our mistake. The thing is, we should grab that shooting star before it sprints away!
