This was supposed to come out earlier, but pardon me, holidays' brewing up my procrastination and I'm fighting it. Last Wednesday marked the official completion of my
tenth grade. Two years in high school seems like two seconds of a distant
vision. Putting all the emotions aside, I’d like to share what these two years
had offered me. Mistakes, joy, memories, and sorrow, if you’re entering tenth
grade or high school anytime soon, just keep these things in mind before you
mentally start prepping yourself for it.
1. Organization
is your mantra
As tiresome as
it sounds, this is something we all postpone till the last minute. Organize
every last of your note, and those never-ending piles of papers and samples
right from day 1! You’ll thank yourself for that later. And I do agree it’s
easier said than done
2. If
you don’t have time, create some
This is something I learned in a hard way.
We all have the same 24 hours. If your
friend has the extra hour to catch up with the latest episode and complete the
work on time, you should have too. Find where you are wasting time more than
required. Maybe you are thinking of something else while doing math homework
(don’t do that), or you’re spending too much time decorating the front page of
your project work that you’re left with little or no time to write the actual
content, and you end up being cringy in your content. ( but do some front-page
décor too)
3. Never
Compromise
Never do it! If you
want to complete reading that book, or scroll through social media, or just
stay idle, DO IT! Yes. Even if you have headloads of work. Not doing something
is far more better than doing something half-heartedly. Finish that last chapter and sit with a
peaceful and contented mind. you have no idea how your productivity level will
boost!
4. Find
your method of study
Don’t jump into a study method just because
your favourite YouTuber recommends it. (happened to me ). Stick to your comfort
zone, especially if you’re gonna take boards this year.
. 5.. Ask
for help
Stuck on a problem? Try solving
it for the next fifteen minutes. If you fail, without thinking twice, go and
ask for help. You’ll thank yourself later for saving a lot of time.
. 6. Be
ahead
If your teacher provides
you an outline of the works she would be giving you that week, why not complete
it the first day? So that for rest of the week, you’ll have that time for
reviewing the subject, or for something else. Either way, one task is off your
to-do list.
7. Don’t
leave anything behind
Attend your school’s
extracurricular activities. It could be your last year there, or the last time
you’d be attending those as a junior. The first thing teachers tell you when
you come out of the exam hall, is “you’re no more a junior.” Make the most
mischief you can while you’re still a junior.
8. Be
Kind
This one aspect is what everyone keeps forgetting about high school.
Let’s face it, bullying is no more region-specific. If you witness or experience any bullying, don’t
be afraid to speak out. Remember, if not now, when? And don’t involve in any of
those either. Let’s spread kindness and positivity.
9. Eat
healthy
I think this is self-explanatory. Don’t
stock up crunchies from every company for your late-night sessions. It’s better
if you don’t munch anything between your proper meals, but if it seems
unavoidable, try to keep it healthy.
10. Get
that fresh air
Having regular physical activity can help both your brain and your
body. This is one thing I regret not doing. Now that I do go out and play,
every one of my muscles complains of having avoided this for the entire year.
Just do it, so that you can save your regrets for something else.
That’s it for today. If you have any more suggestions
to add to the list, comment them down below. And, stay safe!
